Ich war durch die Aussichten auf ein schönes Golfwochenende äußerst motiviert. Diese Aussichten wurden bereits vor der Trainingsrunde durch heranziehenden Nebel getrübt.
Der Start der ersten Runde war allerdings planmäßig und ließ das Beste annehmen. Nach einigen Holes begann es jedoch bereits zu Regnen und er wurde stärker im Laufe der Zeit, als auch noch Nebel dazukam wurde die erste Runde unterbrochen. Das Ausharren im Gasthof wurde genutzt um zu trocknen, wie auch um bereits gespielte Bogeys zu beklagen. Schlussendlich kam es zum Abbruch der Samstagsrunde.
Um den Sonntag voll zu nutzen und die Abreise mit der Seilbahn etwas nervenaufreibender zu gestalten(letzte Talfahrt um 18:00 Uhr) wurden am Sonntag zwei volle Runden gespielt.
Nach Runde eins war Dani in Führung mit der besten Runde des Turnieres von 54, einen Wurf dahinter Oti und zwei weitere Würfe dahinter Jakub und Ich.
Der Turnierdirektor Oti war äußerst angetan von den eigens installierten neuen Teepads, insbesondere von den aus Ungarn organisierten Matten. Und obwohl Dani auf diesen Matten eine Art von Heimvorteil hätte, so nutzte Oti den Heimvorteil am restlichen Kurs und konnte das Turnier mit zwei Würfen Vorsprung für sich entscheiden. Meine zweite Runde war eher mittelmäßig und am Island Hole zeigte ich kurz vor Schluss leichte Unkonzentriertheit, die mir den dritten Platz kostete.
Solche Probleme auf Islands liegen wohl in der Familie..
Bei den Damen war nach der ersten Runde Katka weit genug in Führung um den Sieg souverän nach Hause zu spielen. Katharina wird zweite, gefolgt von Sonja.
Bis bald am Schöckl, hoffentlich das nächste mal mit drei Runden.
Hungarian teepads in the fog
At the beginning of September it was time for another tournament of the AHT series, the Schöckl Open. For this tournament players came from all different directions.
I was motivated because I saw the chances that it could be another beautiful weekend of Disc Golf. These chances were disturbed even before the practice round due to fog.
The first round started as planned and the weather looked good. After some holes it started to rain and it got stronger, as even the fog got stronger the round had to be stopped. Most of the payers used the break in the Alpengasthof to get dry and to complain about a bogey or two. Eventually the round got cancelled completly.
The plan for sunday was to play two full rounds to use the time as efficiently as possible and to make the trip down the mountain more stressfull(last cable railway at 6 pm).
After the first round Dani was in the lead with the hot round of the tournament, a 54. One behind that was Oti, two more behind were Jakub and I.
The tournament director Oti was satisfied with his new teepads and especially with the artificial grass pad from Hungary. Even though Dani had some kind of home advantage on these pads, Oti used the home advantage on the rest of the course. He won the tournament two strokes ahead of Dani.
My second round was nothing special but I wasn't able to concentrate on the island hole which cost me the third place.
Problemes on island holes possibly run in the family..
In the women division Katka had a comfortable lead after the first round and was able to take home the win. Katharina finishes in second, followed by Sonja.
